Review:

Thoughts from the Princess and the Elf

-The musical numbers truly were magical! And more than that, just like in the original, several of them taught important lessons. From Topsy you learn to look at chronic problems from a new perspective, from the lamplighters you learn to keep looking for the light, and from Mary you hear that loosing a loved one doesn’t mean they are gone forever as well as not judging a book by it’s cover. Just because someone seems nice does not mean that they are and vice versa.

-The movie was incredibly well cast! And we LOVED all the little cameos! Emily Blunt did an amazing job as Mary and Lin Manuel Miranda was wonderful while making singing, acting and dancing look effortless.

-Imagination and a new point of view can help you solve almost any problem and can help you accomplish the seemingly impossible! “Everything’s possible- even the impossible!”

-One of the lessons of the movie really didn’t hit me until the day after. Only one of the big important people was helpful, and the friends and neighbors who seemed more unimportant to the main problem were actually the ones that had the biggest impact. A good reminder that the people we spend our time with are important and impactful.

-Understanding our history and treasuring memories is important but dwelling on the past and in our current issues can be problematic if you forget to keep moving forward. *Which is a popular Disney theme*

If you’re feeling nostalgic and want to watch the original, you can buy or rent it here on Amazon. Also, the soundtrack for this movie was FANTASTIC! You can grab that here!
