Thoughts from the Elf

-I enjoyed the general plot of the movie. There were a couple of spots where it dragged a little. But for the most part it was very engaging.
-There was a good mix of humor and serious alien fighting.
-Two of the different aliens that really creeped me out they were done so well.
-The acting was great. I loved Emma Thompson’s character especially! This was cast really well. It would have been wonderful to see some of the original characters pop through for a minute, but they did a good job of keeping the flow of the movie so that they weren’t missed too badly.
-I’ve read a couple of pieces that talk about how the remake was off because they added women to be politically correct. It was not obnoxious or over politicized to add women the way they did into the universe. They did it very well and with a little humor.
-There was plenty of action and humor and I’m hopeful that they’ll continue the series and that there will be a little romance too.
