Why Watch Black Adam

Black Adam is a very interesting for a few reasons. Firstly, it tells a very compelling story within it’s own movie. It builds so many new characters that add depth and intrigue that is often missing in DC movies. Black Adam is introduced veryy interestingly as he is insanely powerful, but has a distinct weakness (similar to Krytponite). Although it is not flawless, it definitely is one of the more solid offerings from the DC universe in quite some time.

Secondly, is how it may actually tie into the larger DCEU (SPOILER WARNING).

In the credits scene, Black Adam is confronted by Amanda Waller who sends Superman and he says, “We need to talk.” There is SO much potential here (especially with the current leadership shakeup over at DC). Overall, this is a genuinely good movie that feels like it may lead to a more cohesive movie universe.

-Is Black Adam Appropriate?-

So, this movie is a bit interesting. It is less dark than many DC movies, but quite a bit darker than your average Marvel movie. Most of this comes from Black Adam’s view towards violence. Throughout most of the film, Black Adam goes on murderous rampages. Most of these are played for humor, but many would be just too much for smaller viewers.

Diving into Adam’s story, we also see his tragic origins. His son gives up his powers and is immediately shot and killed by an arrow. This is definitely the most emotional part of the movie and may be triggering for people who have had recent losses. Lastly, there are a few minor cuss words throughout the film. Honestly, if you can handle everything mentioned above, you should be good to go.
