Why Watch Lost Ollie
Lost Ollie tells a very emotionally gripping story with so many twists and turns. It does a masterful job at jumping between the past and the present to build big emotional moments. With that said, throughout the entire series, there is this constant feeling of looming sadness. There are several very emotional moments. These emotions range from anger to grief and most emotions on the whole scale. This makes it very easy to get immediately attached to the characters and root or boo them along accordingly.
The two main characters are Ollie and Billy who spend the series attempting to reunite with each other. There are several other characters along the way and genuinely everyone in this series is just absolutely phenomenal. They do such a good job at portraying the joys of the highs and the grief of the lows.
The cinematography is absolutely fantastic as well. This movie does a great job transitioning from the real life filming to the CGI actions of Ollie and his friends to create a very immersive world If you and anyone you’re watching it with (if applicable) can handle the emotional journey you are set on, then you are in for a powerful story.

Is Lost Ollie Appropriate? (Contains Major Spoilers)
Lost Ollie deals with heavily with grief and loss. Obviously, this starts with having a lost toy, but quickly gets worse as he learns that his mom is dealing with a terminal illness (cancer). She eventually passes and this grief is felt and seen very deeply by Billy and his father. There are also several scenes of bullying towards Billy, some just minor teasing and some outright violence towards and eventually from him.
With Ollie’s story, there are several things to make sure your kid can handle. There are some pretty big twists and people who are built up as friends turn very evil and try to torture information from Ollie. Although, this is not overly graphic, but the atmosphere is very dark. Also, there are a few times Ollie and others appear to die (or actually die), one of which is seemingly graphic, even though they are all toys. No visible blood or anything, just filmed very cinematically.
Lastly, there are a few uses of curse words. One use of “I’ll be damned and a few uses of “hell”. The language is less severe than the things mentioned prior, but something to note if you are noting those words.
On the higher level, Lost Ollie has a pretty dark, slow atmosphere throughout most of the series. This may be two slow or too dark for younger viewers. It also doesn’t seem to be made for teenagers, so it really seems to be made for kids between the ages of 8-12. With that said, you know your kids and hopefully we’ve given you enough context to make this decision.
