What happens at Eregion in The Rings of Power Season 2 episode 7 recap?

Celebrimbor completes the design for the 9 rings under the spell of Annatar. The city is under siege and burning, but he hears none of it. Annatar also manipulates the other city leaders into believing that Celebrimbor has lost his mind and that he is the only one that can save them now.

Celebrimbor realizes that Annatar is Sauron finally, but it is too late. When he tries to warn the troops, Sauron manipulates his arm and makes it seem like Celebrimbor pushes Mirdania to her death. He convinces Celebrimbor to continue making the rings, or the whole city will fall. He makes the rings, collects them. Cuts of his thumb to escape his shackles with the rings. He manages to give the rings to Galadriel and makes an inspirational speech (in quotes below.

Celebrimbor takes a small group of soldiers back to arrest Sauron and Sauron (as Annatar) forces them to all kill each other, except Celebrimbor.

What happens to the Dwarves in The Rings of Power Season 2 episode 7 recap?

King Durin commands his forces to dig, even though is son and daughter in law are blocking the mine. But the mine leader goes down and pledged allegiance to Prince Durin instead, agreeing that they need to get the ring away from the king. Prince Durin parleys with Elrond to talk about the coming wars and overthrowing the king.

Prince Durin speaks to the people and convinces them to come fight Sauron with him through an inspirational speech. But is forced to recall the army when his father starts murdering dwarves. Leaving Elrond in a loosing position, but still believing that his friend will come through and that Durin will come. But not before Adar takes the ring and tears down the wall.

What happens on the road with the Orcs in The Rings of Power Season 2 episode 7 recap.

Adar is successfully waging battle on Eregion. But then Elrond shows up with more troops. But Adar shows captive Galadriel and offers a truce, the ring for Galadriel’s life. Elrond refuses but requests to say goodbye to Galadriel before they murder her. Adar accepts and lets Elrond kiss Galadriel goodbye, and he stealthily passes a key to her with his mouth. (PS- Elrond is 500+ years younger than Galadriel and actually ends up marrying her daughter)

Elrond gathers the troops to shore up the wall for one more night, waiting for the dwarves to come to their aide. In one of the more epic and tragic scenes of the night, a warrior named Rian is able to use a torch arrow to blow up a significant part of the Orc’s breeching force even though she has been shot several times.

Adar then sends the troll into battle even though he kills indiscriminately.

The End of Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

Erondir makes it to Eregion and helps save Galadriel. He wants to take an Adar by himself even though it means he will die. Galadriel convinces him to come with her. Erondir helps Elrond take down a troll.

Galadriel escapes with the rings. Celebrimbor fails to take Sauron into custody.

Without the Dwarves help, morning comes. Elrond has managed to keep the wall up through the night but cannot do more. Erondir is stabbed in the chest by Adar. It looks like he dies, but I’m holding onto hope that he lived.

Adar goes for Elrond and takes Galadriel’s ring from him. All hope seems lost for Eregion and the Elves.
