-How to Prepare for Spiderman: No Way Home-

To get full enjoyment out of this movie, I would recommend watching the Spider Man movies from the past couple of decades, the previous MCU Spiderman movies, and at least the first Dr. Strange. It is not necessary to be completely caught up on the MCU’s storyline, or even to watch the other Spidermans, but it will help you put the pieces of the movie together faster.

Know everything you need to know about Spiderman before you watch Spiderman No Way Home in just 5 minutes- COMING SOON!

-Is Spiderman: No Way Home Appropriate?

This one has some heavy subject matter and hard-to-watch emotional scenes. It does still have plenty of fun lighthearted moments that you expect from a Spider-Man film, but not this is not the film for young kids under 11. There is your typical Marvel level violence. Plus some moral choice/obligation heaviness.

-Film Quality

This film will go down as a legendary film, even outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The CGI is amazing, and the cinematography is stunning. The writing feels natural, especially the friendship between MJ, Peter, and Ned. All their scenes together feel like they really are friends who care about each other and their wellbeing.

Spiderman No Way Home Discussion Questions *SPOILERS*

Themes to Discuss: Responsibility, Power, Loss, Sacrifice, Multiverse, and Redemption

1) Peter initially doesn’t think through his options before going to Dr. Strange. What were some other options that he could have tried to get him and his friends into MIT before trying to get Dr. Strange to help him out?

2) There were a lot of really cool moments in this movie for long-time Spidey fans. Which of the Spider-Mans are your favorite?

3) Ultimately, Peter had to make the choice between losing his friends and opening the multiverse. Which one would you pick?

4) There were 5 awesome villains in this movie, and each one had their own reasons for being bad, but Peter and Aunt May could see that they could be given a second chance. Which one did you empathize with the most?

5) With the way we leave Spiderman: No Way Home, where do you think we will see Spiderman in the upcoming films?

-Plot/ Story of Spiderman No Way Home *SPOILERS*-

The characters in this film are so incredibly well written. It is a character-driven film. Things don’t just happen to Peter and his friends, they are in control of their stories and how they choose to move forward. The story flows naturally, and it expands the world nicely. This was a perfect ending to the highschool Spider-Man trilogy, and it left me so excited to see what Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is going to do next now that he’s on his own.

If it ends here though, I will definitely be disappointed. Many reviews are pointing out the fact that you could sort of feel in the ending that Sony and Disney have not agreed on what to do next with the character. Despite this, they did leave themselves very open for many stories, especially with the end credits that presented Tom Hardy’s Venom character.

-Characters in Spiderman No Way Home- *SPOILERS*

**MAJOR SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT**

The acting in this movie is top notch. Tom Holland is incredible in this film, and he balances Peter’s internal emotions and his duty to protect the people around him perfectly. Green Goblin (from Spider-Man 1) and Doc Ock (from Spider-Man 2) are the big villains in this one and knowing their backstory helps to flesh them out, but they do a great job in this movie alone as well.

Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina return as Green Goblin and Doc Ock respectively. Dafoe was incredible in Spider-Man 1 and he is even better here. With the cheesiness toned down, it easier to see how brilliant of an actor he really is. Molina is also amazing in the movie, but his character is under-utilized in the final act.

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are further developed in this movie, along with their relationships with Peter, and it makes it even more painful when they don’t remember him. One of the greatest strengths here is the depth they give Tobey and Andrew’s Spider-Mans. They aren’t just cameos, they are developed characters, and the story allows them to complete their stories in a beautiful way. A couple other great characters are Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, both reprising their roles from previous Marvel projects.

Spiderman No Way Home: Favorite Moments *SPOILERS*

There are so many incredible moments in this film, but my favorites absolutely must be every scene with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. After anxiously hoping that they would be in this movie for so long, seeing them step out the portals made me feel like I was about to throw up out of excitement. Watching the 3 Spideys interact every time felt like I was a kid meeting Ariel for the first time, it was just pure joy. Their banter and the banter in between the villains was the best part of this movie. This is culminated perfectly as each of the Spidermen get to complete their story arcs in near-perfect story-telling.
