Need a light, fun, show to watch?

1) Check out “The World According to Jeff Goldblum” streaming now on Disney+

Type: Docu- series
Rating: TV-PG
Release Date: November 2019
Seasons/Episodes: 1 season, currently releasing episodes weekly

The episodes are fun, light, and generally appropriate enough that you could watch it together with a 4 year old (although they would probably get bored) and your grandmother.

2) Check out “Making It” streaming now on Hulu and NBC

Type: Comedy, Reality, Game Show
Rating: TV-PG
Release Date: 2018
Seasons/Episodes: 2 Seasons, 14 episodes

Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman team up again, but this time, not for Parks and Rec but for creativity! This show should come with a warning label though “Caution: Do not visit Hobby Lobby right after viewing and understand that undertaking projects will result in a higher Pinterest fail rate” hahaha! We really enjoy this one!

We have a whole post dedicated to this show because we love it so much. Adventure, action, interaction and appropriate for most ages! Such a fun experience!

Want something inspiring that will give you hope for the world?

4) Check out “Marvel’s Hero Project” streaming now on Disney +

Type: Reality, Docu-Series
Rating: TV-PG
Release Date: 2018
Seasons/Episodes: 1 Season, 10 Episodes

Each episode highlights a kid that’s doing great things to help other kids! And they get to be the hero of their own comic because they inspire others through their own, real life, heroic deeds! **Warning: Check the episode list out online before you view this one with your kids. There is an episode featuring the fight against child abuse and one about a trans teen fighting for equality- if these aren’t conversations you want to start with your kids now, skip those episodes.** Highly suggest this, I was laughing and crying through the entire first episode and just felt SO hopeful afterwards!

Want something to inspire that girl power?!

5) Check out “Shine On with Reese” Streaming on Netflix

Type: Docu-Series
Rating: TV-PG
Release Date: 2018
Seasons/Episodes: 1 Season 9 Episodes

Reese Witherspoon interviews some amazing women to talk about all the things! **Warning: In these real interviews there is occasional language and some references that might be off putting to some people, you should be able to tell by the episode list which ones you would enjoy most** After every single episode I’m left thinking about something and feeling inspired!

Need a serious motivational boost??

6) Check out “Brene Brown’s The Call to Courage” streaming now on Netflix.

Type: Talk, Single Episode
Rating: None- we recommend for older teens and up
Release Date: April 2019
Seasons/Episodes: One Episode

We have a post here with what we learned from this talk and discussion questions! Brene isn’t just a researcher, she’s a relatable and funny human. I’ve re-watched this twice now because it is just packed with wonderful motivation and insight. We would caution parents that this is very appropriate for older teens all the way through to grandparents, but not as appropriate for the 15 and under crowd.

Want something to stretch your brain?

7) Check out “Jeopardy – The Greatest of All Time” streaming now on Hulu and ABC

Type: Game Show
Rating: TV-G
Release Date: 2018
Seasons/Episodes:

While younger viewers might get bored, this is appropriate for the whole family. It always surprises me which questions I actually know and which ones I end up entirely missing that I should have known. This is probably going to be Alex Trebek’s last tournament, so that’s more motivation to tune into this one.
