Netflix Valentines Watch List:

Netflix has no shortage of classic romance and comedies on this month!
But be aware that not all Netflix original movies are created equally, and they certainly are not all Hallmark-y. Some are super family appropriate, like Falling Inn Love, and others are very not, like The Kissing Booth.

5 Romantic Netflix Streaming Suggestions

1) Falling Inn Love: What do you do when you win a life changing contest? Do you get up and move to another country? A sweet romance comedy that’s safe for 8+.
2) The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society: A historical romance that’s rated TV-14 for intense war scene depictions. A beautiful story.
3) Safe Haven: A Nicholas Sparks movie adaption about a mysterious girl who falls for a very transparent small town dad. A fair amount of violence/abuse depicted- PG13
4) Loving: Also PG-13 this is a fictionalized story of the Loving’s! A couple whose Supreme Court case changed the laws against interracial marriage in 1967.
5) The Princess Switch: Princess switches with commoner and finds true love- it’s a rom-com cliche for sure, but oh so good. ***) Watch out for Netflix original romance movies. Some of them are super family-friendly and some are super not appropriate, or romantic. So check the rating and a review first. My favorites that are not listed above are A Christmas Prince, A Holiday Calendar, Operation Christmas Drop and the Love, guaranteed.

5 Other Fun Netflix Streaming Ideas

1) Animal Crackers: This is an animated family comedy, but before you write it off as just another kid movie- know that the main two characters are voiced by husband and wife duo Emily Blunt and John Krasinski and it’s super fun!
2) For a super INSPIRATIONAL watch check out Bethany Hamilton’s documentary Unstoppable!
3) Want a little bit of romance but a whole lot more fun and action- check out Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2!
4) And if you want to hear some little kids advise on love, romance, and big kid life problems- check out A Little Help with Carol Burnett*
5) Have you checked out The Crown or Downton Abbey yet? They’re both streaming now!

1) Rio: A fun family movie with a cute little love story within.
2) Love, Simon: A coming of age story about finding connection and acceptance.
3) A Cinderella Christmas: a Hallmark like and fam friendly romance 
4) The Proposal: Just how far will you go to help your boss keep her job- a fake engagement?! Betty White shines in this fun rom com rated PG-13 for a fair amount of crude language, implied sex scenes, and innuendo.
5) Rosaline: A comedic retelling of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” Ratied PG-13

Other Fun Hulu Streaming Ideas

1) Fireheart: A young girl tries to follow her dream of becoming a firefighter
2) Lego Masters: A reality game show that will thrill your inner child and artist! The episodes are 45 min. without commercials, appropriate for any age level, and just a lot of fun!
3) Only Murders in the Building: This is a series instead of a movie, but I just could not leave it off. Such an engaging series!! Rated tv14 it stars Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin.
4) Trolls World Tour: The second movie in the Trolls series did not disappoint.
5) I recently re-watched the whole Hunger Games series and remembered how much I loved it. Such a good dystopian series.

Of course you have many classic princess movie options. Plus several of the new live action remakes. But there are other options on the streaming platform as well!

6 Valentine Streaming Suggestions for Disney +

1) While You Were Sleeping: Be careful what you wish for in this comedy! This classic Sandra Bullock movie is safe for 10+.
2) Tangled: In our opinion- this is the sweetest recent Disney princess movie! Great soundtrack too! Safe for all ages. Our second pick would be Princess and the Frog and it’s available to stream right now too!
3) Aladdin: This is our favorite live action Disney movie! Beauty and the Best is also wonderful!
4) If you’re feeling like a good romantic musical, check out The Newsies and The Sound of Music
5) Princess Bride: A romantic classic filled with family fun!
6) The Princess Diary 1 and 2 are also streaming and are super cute PG watches.

1) If you’re in the mood for a good action movie, check out the re-make of Mulan!
